The Samsung Galaxy NX will debut in the United States in October. The Android camera with interchangeable lenses was recently announced to have an unbelievable price in the United Kingdom, and the same will be true when the camera goes on sale stateside.
Samsung has announced that the Galaxy NX will cost $1,600 – just for the body. Purchasing the camera with the 18-55mm kit lens will bring the total purchase price to $1,700. The price seems exorbitant, but it’s less surprising given that we already knew based on the high cost set in the U.K. that Samsung had no intention of reasonably pricing its new device. Anyone who wants a Galaxy NX will pay a premium to get it.
First announced in June as a way to marry advanced photography with consumer-level apps and features enabled by its Android software, the Galaxy NX has the body of a DSLR but a price higher than one. Samsung will sell the Wi-Fi-capable camera at various retailers in October. Additional lenses and accessories will also be available at that time.
