According to LG, the Android Wear powered timepiece will still be available as existing inventory gets sold off. The manufacturer doesn’t want to be in a position where it will have to take a huge write off for unsold watches. This should mean that patient consumers will be able to find a good deal on the watch even though it will no longer be produced. Just the other day, we told you that AT&T’s online store was offering the LG G Watch R for $99, a $200 or 67% discount off of its usual price.
The LG G Watch R features a 1.3-inch P-OLED screen with a 320 x 320 resolution. The IP67 certification means that the timepiece can be submerged in up to 3.2 feet of water for as long as a half hour, and emerge unscathed. The watch is powered by a Snapdragon 400 CPU with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 410mAh battery. Currently, the LG G Watch R is in the process of being updated to Android Wear 5.1.1. An update next quarter will add Wi-Fi connectivity to the device.
